Digital developments increase the risk of cyber threats, especially for connected OT systems that control critical processes. A cyber attack can lead to production stoppages, financial losses or, in the worst case, serious accidents. The human factor remains one of the biggest security risks, making training crucial to ensure compliance and protection. In addition, directives and legislation are becoming increasingly stringent.

The SSG Cyber Security OT course is an in-depth course in work environment and security. It is developed by SSG together with representatives from industry.

NIS2 Directive and new Swedish legislation

The NIS2 Directive, adopted by the EU in December 2022, replaces the previous NIS Directive. It sets higher requirements for cybersecurity across the EU and includes:

Requirements for risk analysis
Security measures such as systematic training of staff and management
Reporting of incidents
Management commitment in this area

In addition, more sectors are covered than before, especially for activities considered essential to society or providing critical services.

NIS2 will be introduced into Swedish legislation in 2025 and will require companies and organizations to take measures to meet the new requirements.

Målgrupp

Kursen vänder sig till personer som i sitt arbete kommer i kontakt med eller hanterar OT-system, oavsett om du är entreprenör, leverantör, inhyrd eller anställd personal.

Goal

The goal of the course is to increase the risk awareness of the participants by identifying threats and creating understanding of the consequences of lack of cybersecurity through real examples.

The course supports the organization in meeting legal requirements (NIS2 and new Swedish legislation) and thus helps to avoid penalties.

Implementation

The course is web-based and short factual sections are interspersed with slideshows, examples, scenarios and educational exercises to increase participant engagement.

Each chapter then ends with knowledge tests to ensure that the trainee has absorbed the knowledge, and is then valid for three years.
