Standard Solutions Group

Safety is always at the top of the agenda for Epiroc Rock Drills AB, a leading provider of innovative solutions for the mining and construction industry. Since 2022, the company has chosen SSG On site to simplify access to safety information.

Today, they have seven sites connected to the app and can easily manage their routines and share important news with employees and contractors present at the site.

Communication challenges

Moa Franzson, SHE engineer, talks about the challenges they have faced and how SSG On site has been a significant tool for strengthening safety work.

– At a site, there are several stakeholders that we want to reach and communication is a big challenge. Before we started using SSG On site almost two years ago, we often used paper posters or emails to communicate our safety information.

Lars Gelin, Operations Engineer at Epiroc Rock Drills AB, agrees.

– This has been the case and it is also difficult to know how many people have received the information. "I have a dialog with many of our contractors and it is important to provide updated information before they carry out the work at the site.

Important safety information can be shared instantly

– To continue to modernize and gather all safety information in one place for all sites, we chose to go ahead and start with SSG On site. It was a natural next step, as we had used SSG Entre for several years and to ensure a safe working environment at our sites, Moa continues.

The best thing about the app according to Lars

News - we used this, for example, to announce the introduction of self-propelled forklifts.

Procedures tab – where contractors can easily find the procedures we have in place at our sites.

Guide for check-in at the sites – here a digital guide helps both Swedish and foreign contractors who enter the site.

Better dialogue with contractors

We have many contractors working with us during the year and it is convenient for us to be able to refer to the app SSG On site.

– We notice that more and more people use the app and see the great value of it - which results in a safer working day," Lars concludes.
